The Project
John Wright have refurbished 3 boiler houses for the NHS, in Holme Valley, West Yorkshire, with the installation of a new Commercial Boiler system.
Before we completed the refurbishment, the heating plant was served by 4No. gas fired boilers located in a ground floor plant room, the hot water plant was served by 2No. calorifiers. The heating boilers were towards the end of life and required replacement.
The completed works included:
- Removal and disposal of existing boilers, flues, pumps, calorifiers and associated plant.
- Replacement of all pipework in the plant room to suit the new plant room configuration.
- Installation of 4No. Viessmann gas fired condensing boilers, new flue header to connect boiler flues into one termination.
- 2No. AO Smith calorifiers have been installed along with flow through expansion vessels to comply with Legionella and associated safety valves.
- Installation of a gas proving system for the plant room and also picked up the gas interlock to the kitchen ventilation and linked to the BMS Controls and associated plant.
- Alterations to existing pipework, controls and electrics to suit new boilers was undertaken.
- Commissioning of all new and existing heating plant including all controls.
- Any further necessary works to make a full and complete working installation.
