John Wright Electrical and Mechanical Services Ltd have an all new look online! We've given our website a fresh coat of paint. The all new, more modern website was designed to incorporate the history of the company while encompassing the company's work going forward, employing modern practices, staying ahead of the curve across all our work. Founded in 1997, John Wright have continued to grow throughout over 30 years' experience in the mechanical and electrical engineering sector.

With major works carried out for national and international businesses across the country, John Wright are one of the leading electrical and mechanical contractors in Yorkshire. We carry out works in excess of £1million, with contracts for architects, regional and national building contractors, and direct works carried out for universities, councils and central government agencies. We use over 30 years' experience in the industry to complete mechanical and electrical services for companies across the country.

Some of our favourite projects of the last few years include The National Railway Museum Art Gallery in York, where we built a new art gallery for the museum within a traction shed. We had to provide power to the building, with scene select dimmable lighting control to create the perfect ambience. We also installed a Building Management System, helping to manage temperature and humidity levels within the gallery area.

We've also completed work for English Heritage on the prestigious Whitby Abbey. It's English Heritage's job to take care of some of England's most important historical landmarks. They entrusted us to design and install electrical services around the Visitor Centre and the Abbey itself. Recessed high-level lighting was designed to enhance the oak slatted ceilings. When lighting the Abbey, obtaining the correct lamp colour to enhance the stonework was the most vital part of the operation, as the building can be seen for miles around.
