John Wright are delighted to announce that the Lights on the Lake Ceremony, was awarded Gold for the 'Best Charity Event' at the Minister FM Listener Choice Awards 2019. The Minister FM Awards have been running for four years and, in the absence of a panel of judges, rely on listener's votes to crown a Bronze, Silver and Gold winner for each category.Lights on the Lake, organised by St Leonard's Hospice, is a remembrance service for lost loved ones at Rowntree Park. As an established Electrical and Mechanical Services company based in York, we pride ourselves on supporting and integrating with our local community, so we were delighted to supply electric paper candles for the event. Each candle represents a lost loved one and the much-needed donations for the candles went towards helping the hospice. The event, held in March 2019, was a huge success. The evening compromised of a lantern parade from Terry Avenue to the lake at the edge of Rowntree Park. The York Civic Choir sang whilst lanterns were placed on the water and a short service was held by spiritual care lead at the hospice, David Williamson. We're thrilled that the event won 'Best Charity Event', and we were very proud to be involved in such an important and special event. If you'd like to read more about the services we offer, click here.
